As The Ancients took to the stars and explored new worlds, they cataloged wondrous flora and fauna never before seen...

...AND BEING UNSEEN IS HOW FOUR-STORY-TALL SPIDER-RODENTS BROUGHT DEATH AND DESTRUCTION TO MANY AN EXPLORER!!!

Rabachnids are towering, 40' monstrosities that prowl alien forests and jungles.  Their shaggy, vermin-like bodies sit atop spindly, arthropoidal legs, and their massive heads are all eyes and ears and teeth.  Grasping claws, scissoring pincers, and sinuous tails complete the nightmarish melange.

Despite their freakish appearances and massive builds, rabachnids are extremely stealthy, Surprising on a 1-5 on 1d6 in overgrown areas.  And even if encountered in flat, barren terrain, a rabachnid still manages to hide in plain sight by standing still, giving the appearance that it's just a copse of native trees—observers are bewilderingly oblivious to the clawed, fanged, furry horror before and/or above them.  This is apparently accomplished by a broad Mental Phantasm that automatically targets anyone (as if from a Willpower of 16) within a 3 mile radius.  The effect even works through optical-based sensory equipment.

The Ancients brought some rabachnids back to Earth for display in wondrous xenozoos, but the creatures have long since escaped into the wilds of the Mutant Future.

Devastation Drive-In 3-D — 'Attack The Block' (2011)

Bluetooth

No. Enc.:  1d10 (3d12)
Alignment:  Neutral
Movement:  150' (50')
Armor Class:  5
Hit Dice:  7
Attacks:  3 (2 claws, 1 bite)
Damage:  1d8 / 1d8 / 2d10 (see below)
Save:  L4
Morale:  12

XP:  2,540

Most contact between The Ancients and extraterrestrials happened in remote backwoods locales far removed from civilization...

...but sometimes, even bustling metropolises were overrun...

...BY RAVENOUS, RADIANT-FANGED PRIMATES FROM THE DARKEST DEPTHS OF SPACE!!!

The hyper-aggressive bluetooths are shaggy beasts with brawny, knuckle-walking builds almost identical to Ancient apes.  Their hides are as black as the cosmic void, and their only distinguishing features are radiant, electric-blue eyes.  But those aren't eyes at all...they're jutting, glowing canines!  And behind those canines lie row after row of luminescent teeth!

Bluetooths lack any obvious external sensory organs, and are seemingly blind and deaf. However, they curl back their lips and "sniff" for targets, apparently operating purely on olfactory input with no disadvantageous affects.

The creatures are amazingly nimble, and combine acrobatics and bounding momentum to steamroll targets full-bore, inflicting an additional +1d6 damage per attack while in motion. And bluetooths' mighty jaws shatter the thickest protective gear, treating victims wearing anything but powered armor as if their ACs were +3 worse.

Despite their wholly non-reflective fur and penchant for lurking in the shadows, bluetooths only Surprise on a 1-3 on 1d6, due to their vocalizations and penchant for baring their teeth before attacking.  Ranged attacks against them suffer a -3 To Hit penalty.

Bluetooths have a bizarre method of propagation.  A single meteoroid falls upon a planet's surface, and "hatches" a smaller, nigh-hairless, brown, ivory-toothed specimen [4 HD, 1d6 / 1d6 / 1d8 damage] that is presumed to be female.  She marks anything—and anyone—with which she has contact with a pheromonal chemical detectable only by UV sensors.  Even deceased females discharge this substance, and any handling / moving of the corpses spreads it further.  Hours later, dozens of additional meteoroids fall, each birthing a standard male bluetooth that unerringly homes in on the (living or dead) female...and the "anythings and anyones" that she touched...

Devastation Drive-In 3-D — 'The Last Dinosaur' (1977)

(U.K. One-Sheet)

Artifact:  Laser-Borer

As The Ancients relentlessly consumed the planet's fossil fuels, they devised fantastic technologies to unearth new reserves of gas and oil...

...which lead them to the bottom of the seas, and the subterranean bowels of the earth...

...WHERE AWAITED MONSTROUS LIVING FOSSILS INTENT ON CONSUMING THE ANCIENTS IN TURN!!!

Laser-Borer
Subterranean Vehicle

Burrow Speed:  50 mph
Water Speed:  15 mph

Length:  50 ft
Width:  15 ft
Height:  15 ft

AC:  3 (Duralloy Armor)
Hit Points:  75

Sensors:  Class IV
Programming:  None
Accessories:  Basic life support systems, cartography equipment, medical supplies, rations

Engineered by Thrust Industries, the laser-borer is a 5-man vehicle designed to explore underground environs, and discover untapped petrochemical reserves.  It comes equipped with a full communications / sensor array.  Combining standard "mole-machine" technology with the power of lasers, the contraption shears through stone and ice with ease...and when launched, torpedo-style, from a ship or floating platform, the borer burrows even faster, tunneling through the Earth's mantle in minutes.

The laser-borer also has limited capabilities as a submarine, sporting a periscope and retractable guidance fins.

Those that pilot laser-borers have an uncanny ability to uncover "lost worlds" full of dinosaurs and primitive peoples, in defiance of geographic, environmental, and chronological probabilities....

Alignment:  Neutral
Movement:  150' (50')
  —Burrow:  75' (25')
Armor Class:  2
Hit Dice:  21

Morale:  11
Hoard Class:  VI, XIV
XP:  11,000

Terratops (both singular and plural) are 20' tall, 60' long, quadrupedal carnivores that actually target apex predators. The beasts burrow into the carcass-littered dens of their prey, and then erupt from floors or walls, Surprising on a roll of 1-4 on 1d6.

Terratops bite and gore with abandon.  And when fully emerged from the earth, they take advantage of their increased maneuverability to Charge and Trample, doggedly attacking foes much larger than themselves.  Terratops gladly feed on carrion and bones.

A terratops' Hoard Class represents refuse unearthed by its movements.

Mutations:  Increased Sense (Hearing)

Designer's Notes:  Despite playing in international markets, 'The Last Dinosaur' never had a proper theatrical release in the United States...and actually made its debut as a TV-movie-of-the-week!

Devastation Drive-In 3-D — 'Saturday The 14th' (1981)

Tublantean

No. Enc.:  1 (1)

Movement:  90' (30')
     —Swim:  120' (40')
Armor Class:  5
Hit Dice:  9
Attacks:  3 (2 claws, 1 bite)

A certain film traumatized an entire generation of Ancient children, instilling overwhelming terror of diving, swimming, and even bathing...

...and they had reason to fear, for it's never safe to go back into the water...

...ESPECIALLY IN YOUR OWN HOME!!!

Tublanteans are stocky, scaly, man-sized humanoids of the aquatic persuasion.  They possess freakish dimensional-shifting capabilities, in that they can instantly teleport into—and navigate within—bodies of liquid no deeper than 1'.  When warping into bathwater (which happens to be their preferred method of predation), tublanteans automatically Surprise their quarry.  They suffer no penalties for teleporting "blind", and their abilities have a 25 mile range.

Tubleanteans are nigh-impervious to conventional bladed weapons and firearms; only To Hit rolls of 19 or 20 inflict such damage against them.

For reasons unknown, tublanteans eat everything but their victims' heads.
