"R" is for "Raybat"

Raybats are 2' wide, brightly-hued creatures that congregate in humid cave complexes and Ancient ruins.  They attack from the air with claws and tails (which inject a Class 10 paralytic neurotoxin), and usually feed on small animals and funguses; however, flocks will tackle larger prey.  It is a slow, agonizing fate to be nibbled to death by a swarm of clinging raybats. 

Flocks of 10 or more Confuse [per p. 57 of the Mutant Future Core Rules] their targets.  And a raybat loses use of its claw attacks when grounded, because the creature can only manange an ungainly hop when standing on two legs.  This also increases its Armor Class to 9.
