ALL the GMs ...This is Doug - NTRPGCon organizer...

ALL the GMs of the Saturday "Quantum Leap" game had been told NUMEROUS times about working out a story that allowed the players to switch about every 90 mins... and ALL GMs had said it would be no problem...

It was never ANY fan boys plot since NONE of the Con organizers even played in the event.

Jim Ward and myself came up with the idea.

It obviously didn't go very smooth, though we only have complaints from about 10% of the players.

The session was titled: Expect the Unexpected... so everyone WAS fore warned

We've had requests to do it again my numerous players, but it won't be happening anytime soon since I'd have no clue if the GMs would be prepared even after they told me they would.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7022098939404921421.post-67503130646588136042012-07-01T10:10:45.868-05:002012-07-01T10:10:45.868-05:00I appreciate all the comments, y'all. Sitting at Meta-Alpha, cack...Best first con, evah!

Sitting at Meta-Alpha, cackling hysterically while Jim Ward "kills off" Justin's character: "Young lady, is that really appropriate?" "Yes, yes it is!"

Seconds later: "We'll need to roll for this." Rolls. Flips through his book. "In all my thirty years, this has never happened before. Justin births a crystal baby in his cryotube."

Sitting at Boot Hill, gleefully chatting up all things Western with Frank Metzner (who is single handedly responsible for my entry into tabletop!): "These are my weather dice." (showoff!) "I need some of those!"

"Let's dismantle the little wagon!" "What should we take?" "All things metal and the axels!" "Smart choice, lady." (then we bored the table again waxing quixotic about wagon construction)

Sitting at Gamma: "What the fuck do you mean we're rolling up these characters?" ... "OH SWEET! I JUST GOT HOSTILE PERSONALITY!" ... "Evil monkey boss, I want a mace AND an axe. Just in case." ... "Now we have to role-play?! When do we get to start killing all the things?!" ... "Do you know how hard it is to find good shoes?!" ... "I'm staying 30 yards away from the pig soldiers. I need a mango smoothie. Who's in with me?"

And, discovering the ultimate mixer for Knob Creek is Dr. Pepper with a side of Glen. Can't wait for next year!Alananoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7022098939404921421.post-21717498761202747212012-06-30T05:53:37.946-05:002012-06-30T05:53:37.946-05:00Bwa-ha-ha-ha-haha-haaaaaaa! Sounds like it was a great time, although the unannounced rotating game-thing was ill-conceived and poorly executed.

"Hey, everyone in this theater! We know you paid to see The Avengers and have enjoyed the first 30 minutes, but we now want all of you to shift over to Theater 2 where you'll enjoy the middle-third of That's My Boy. After that, we hope you'll stick around for the final 30 minutes of Magic Mike!

Ugh.Tim Sniderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17390608104314125626noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7022098939404921421.post-67075628171543497752012-06-29T15:39:11.751-05:002012-06-29T15:39:11.751-05:00Great writeup, Justin. Hope Amy had a good time also, I hated that her character died so quickly in B1 but we old-schooled it and surprise, her crappy hireling ended up being a total bad ass. Anyway glad you enjoyed it. If we run the game-switch thing again we'll make sure everyone knows ahead of time what's going on so as not to disappoint anyone. But we do like to think outside the box now and then.Badmikehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06199830751033032585noreply@blogger.com
